How Is a Naphor Product Made?
A Naphor piece is not simply cut and sewn. From fabric selection and pattern development to cutting, sewing and final quality control, every stage is considered in relation to how the piece will look on the body and how it will feel throughout the day.
Because underwear sits directly against the skin, production means more to us than creating something that looks good. It means bringing fabric, fit, stretch and the smallest construction details together in the right way.
Production Begins with Fabric Selection
We do not expect every collection to feel the same. Instead of using one fabric across all Naphor collections, we select different fabric structures according to the fit, character and intended feel of each design.
AIR, TOUCH and SIGNATURE are made with a fabric composed of 95% certified organic cotton and 5% elastane. The high cotton content creates a soft feel close to the skin, while elastane allows the fabric to move with and adapt to the body.
SHADE has a different purpose. Its fabric is composed of 80% Pima cotton and 20% elastane, creating a structure with greater stretch. SIGNATURE is further defined by bands made with Italian yarn, giving the collection its distinctive finish.
In other words, fabric is never something we add after the design is complete. From the beginning, it is part of what determines how each piece will fit, move and feel.
Fabric and Fit Are Developed Together
A good fabric alone does not make good underwear. The same material can behave completely differently depending on the pattern, which is why we never consider fit separately from fabric.
We consider where the piece sits on the body, how it responds to movement, how much it stretches and how the bands rest against the skin. The aim is not to force the body into a shape, but to create a structure that works with the body's natural form.
Slip, Brazilian, Tanga, String, Bikini and high-waisted silhouettes differ for more than visual reasons. Each style sits differently on the body, so its pattern and proportions are developed around its own form.
Small Details Matter in Cutting and Sewing
Once the pattern is ready, the fabric is cut and the individual pieces are assembled according to the construction of each design. At this stage, we pay attention not only to the seams you can see, but also to the details inside the garment that sit directly against the skin.
The gusset area of our panties uses 100% cotton fabric. Rather than enclosing this piece on all four sides, it is sewn along three edges. It is a small detail that may not be visible from the outside, but it is an intentional part of how the product is made.
Band widths also vary according to the character of each collection. From AIR's fine 6 mm bands to the more defined details of TOUCH and SIGNATURE, each element is considered as part of the overall structure of the piece.
Where Are Naphor Products Made?
Naphor products are made in approved and certified workshops operating to international standards. We consider not only the quality of the finished product, but also the production standards and working conditions behind it.
From cutting the fabric to completing the final piece, we work to maintain defined standards throughout the different stages of production. At Naphor, quality is therefore not something we look for only at the end; it is an approach that extends throughout the production process.
The Final Stage: Naphor Quality Control
A finished piece is not immediately considered ready for sale. Its overall shape, seams, fabric surface, bands and finishing details are checked as part of the final quality control process.
Because at the end of production, we are not simply looking for a piece that resembles the original design. The decisions made at the beginning — from fabric to fit — need to be reflected correctly in the finished product.
Only then is the journey of making a Naphor piece complete.
